What is the Transgender Day of Visibility?
TDOV is a day to show your support for the trans community. It aims to bring attention to the accomplishments of trans people around the globe while fighting cissexism and transphobia by spreading knowledge of the trans community. Unlike Transgender Day of Remembrance, this is not a day for mourning: this is a day of empowerment and getting the recognition we deserve!
A community celebration was held March 31, 2017 from 5:30 PM until 7 PM in the Walnut Creek Civic Park, at the intersection of Civic Drive and Broadway. Mount Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church, the Rainbow Community Center, and Club 1220 all participated. Speakers included Rev. Leslie Takahashi. Eighty people attended.

The mission of the Mt. Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church (MDUUC) LGBTQ & FRIENDS Social Justice Committee is to enhance and sustain the health and well-being of ourselves and our greater community by providing activities, programs and education that foster connection; empower one another; advocate for civil and human rights; and promote diversity.
